Install mythvodka
This is the QT make utility. It often comes in the qt-devel or qt4-devel package on various distributions. Install this if you're missing qmake Out of the box at the very least it should be able to play Revision 3 content like diggnation, and if your in the UK then hopefully with those instructions iPlayer will work as well. Hulu does work but as I'm outside of the US I cant test connecting directly out. It takes ages to build the Hulu content, cos theres loads of it.
If you think its too slow then set the gethulu. No more hour long waiting for the data to be catalouged. All credit for being smart and getting the iPlayer files goes to www. For the standalone hulu downloading app see the rtmpdump page. And not even packaged it up that well, its a pain to install, has loads of dependancies, wastes CPU and the GUI is rubbish.
But still, it works. Perhaps, something could be done with the gethulu. After installing the prerequisites, the compiling of the mythvodka source went much more smoothly. MythVodka will sort of work; The UI is a little messy; use the right cursor key to move to the next layer - the UI doesn't make it obvious that there are further layers especially programs. And if you would like to add some optional graphics upgrades to Myth, see Optional Graphics Upgrades.
To setup multiplayer, see Multiplayer Setup. If you don't have your original CDs, but have a backup of the "tags" folder from the original CD, just create a folder Applications:Myth II:tags full of all the files that the original CD "tags" folder had. If you would like to be able to play the Myth I solo and multiplayer levels, see the section below about Myth I. Myth II will run natively under Linux x If you are unable to get it to work, a last resort option is to run the Windows version using Wine compatibility software.
If you would like the cutscenes that Myth II will occasionally play, go to the Tain here and follow the instructions for downloading and installing the cutscenes.
Note that these require that you have Apple's free QuickTime player installed. Attention: These "high resolution" compared to the originals cutscenes can't be used on PowerPC Macs. The first Myth game, Myth: The Fallen Lords , has not been kept up-to-date to run on current computers.
However, all of it's content has been ported into Myth II, so you can have virtually the same experience of playing Myth I. Go here , download the The Fallen Levels plugin , and put it into your "plugins" folder.
If you would like the cutscenes that Myth I will occasionally play, go to the Tain here and follow the instructions for downloading and installing the cutscenes. The multiplayer maps from Myth I have been ported to Myth II, and they're good to have if you want to play online multiplayer, as most people have these.
